This work analyzes the proposal to adapt the wastewater management system at the National University of Concepción, which is necessary due to the growing demand for adequate infrastructure for wastewater management in this area. The rationale for the study is framed in the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), specifically SDG 6, which seeks to guarantee the availability and sustainable management of water and sanitation for all. The objective of the research is to design a sanitary sewage network that meets the needs of the population until the year 2039. To this end, a field investigation was carried out using a mixed approach, with a non-experimental and transversal descriptive design. Semi-structured interviews were applied to three civil engineers from the Municipality's works department and an observation guide was used. The investigation determined that the terrain has a favorable natural slope for the design of the system, allowing the use of gravity to be maximized to transport the effluent and thus reducing the need for pumping stations and long-term operating costs. Additionally, the dimensions of the network components were calculated for a design period of 20 years.
